Colorado Thrives: using AI to create a win-win for employers, job seekers

Share

In Colorado, artificial intelligence (AI) is disrupting the job market — in a way that benefits both employers and employees. With it, employers can find motivated workers with a powerful desire to contribute while job seekers are introduced to jobs that offer opportunity and meaning.

Colorado Thrives, a nonprofit coalition of influential CEOs and business leaders, recently launched CareerFit Colorado, a curated, AI-enabled career platform where jobseekers across the state can directly connect with employers in multiple industries, including in business, healthcare, construction, advanced manufacturing, and quantum and climate technology.

Leveraging FutureFit AI, CareerFit Colorado has created a more personalized, customized job search experience. Specifically, the platform uses AI skills-matching technology to help applicants identify opportunities that align with their experience, transferable skills, and personal goals. Employers can discover qualified and trainable candidates who have the potential and support to thrive in high-demand jobs.

“Through the noise of job boards, there is tremendous power in simplicity and more direct, community-based connections,” said Colorado Thrives CEO Christine Heitz. “This platform helps bring together partners to give Coloradans a more direct demand signal and open doors.”

CareerFit Colorado is a key component of Colorado Thrives’ broader Upskill 2030 initiative, which aims to connect 30,000 Coloradans to living-wage careers by 2030.

A unique benefit for employers who use the platform is the ability to view data across the applicant pool, building insights into the types of education and training programs that will best prepare job seekers for open positions. This insight will create a feedback loop to help refine education, preparation, and employer connectivity, moving employers away from depending on a college degree requirement-only model.

Colorado Thrives is a Charles Koch Foundation partner.

“CKF and Colorado Thrives share a mission to connect more people to jobs where they can find meaning through work that interests and excites them,” said CKF Vice President, Future of Work Laura Demarse. “This platform will unlock opportunities for thousands of Coloradans while helping employers fill job gaps with workers who are eager to contribute to their mission. Colorado Thrives has created a win-win for employers and job seekers.”
