The Charles Koch Foundation is on track to give a record amount of support this year to professors and students at more than 300 colleges and universities—exceeding 2016’s $77 million.
Our philanthropy reflects our belief that progress happens when people are free to pursue their passions. These research and educational grants enable professors and students to set their own research agendas and explore some of the most important issues of our time.
Our funding is helping the Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s Center for Advancing Opportunity study how fragile communities can effectively tackle challenges in education, criminal justice reform, and entrepreneurship. It’s also supporting more than 100 scholars from across disciplines and across the country studying how to improve a broken criminal justice system. And at Harvard, MIT, and several other schools, it’s helping foreign policy scholars broaden the conversation about how best to keep America safe.
